The gap is structural.Households pass on what they know. Schools deliver academic curriculum. Neither is designed to provide the full knowledge required to navigate money, relationships, work, and the world.

The Gap We Close

The gap is not a failure of care. It is a function of what has been available.

South Africa is a young country. Approximately 21 million young people between 15 and 34 make up a third of the population. Youth unemployment sits above 46 percent. Around one in four young people live in households where no adult is employed.

The consequences of this gap do not stay contained. They show up in employment outcomes, financial instability, relationship patterns, and broader social conditions. These are not separate issues. They are different expressions of the same underlying condition.

Indlela does not replace schools or families. It delivers what neither is structurally positioned to provide.

Curriculum reform takes 10 to 15 years from identification to classroom impact. Young people cannot wait.
